Register to Vote or Update Your Registration

Applications received through this website are processed within seven days. Boone County voters that need to update their information on Election Day should do so in person at their polling place. If you are registered to vote in another county in Missouri and need to update your address to Boone County on Election Day, please contact the Boone County Clerk’s Office at 573-886-4375 for more information.

The deadline to register to vote in an election is the fourth Wednesday prior to the election. If registering by mail, your voter registration must be postmarked on the fourth Wednesday prior to the election.

The voter registration qualifications in Missouri are as follows:

  • 17 ½ years of age to register, 18 years of age to vote
  • US Citizen
  • Missouri Resident

If you are registering to vote in Boone County for the first time, you will need to show your ID in order for us to mail you your voter identification card. You can show ID in person at our office in downtown Columbia (801 E Walnut, Room 236), by email at clerk@boonecountymo.org, or when you vote at your polling place on Election Day.
